In 2020, we launched the Local First Credit Card, which offers our members all the benefits of a BHCCU credit card while also giving back to a local nonprofit organization. Each year, our staff nominates organizations that are important to them in the community and a recipient is chosen. At the end of the year, this nonprofit receives $500, plus $10 for every new or transferred card for that year up to a grand total of $1,000. We’re proud to say that more than 50 new cards have been opened each year, resulting in a $1,000 donation to every organization that’s participated. The Local First Credit Card is one more way that we partner with our members and staff to give back.
