We had a young mother of two who was contemplating filing bankruptcy. Our loan officer gave her a call, and they talked about what she would be including in the bankruptcy. She didn’t make her decision right away, but when they spoke again several weeks later she decided to have her two loans with Avestar wrote into one loan with a nicer rate and lower payment. This was a win-win for the credit union and for the member; we avoided a charge off and she avoided a bankruptcy on her record for a small amount of debt. She now feels much more in control of her future.
