An older woman regularly visits our branch to make transactions. She is usually very positive and upbeat, so when she came in one day looking nervous, I knew I had to help. Her husband was going into a nursing home, and she couldn’t afford it. Instead of pushing the sale of a personal loan, I wanted to give her a longer-term solution. That’s why I got her a meeting with our financial advisor who was able to set her up with a plan. I am thankful to work at a credit union where this is an option, unlike the bank I worked at in the past.
