Our first YP Boot Camp of 2025 will be a virtual event. Our speakers will present top-of-mind content in an interactive and engaging format. There will also be time for conversation and exchange of ideas with your young professional colleagues from across the state.

Beyond your Credit Union: All About Cooperatives
Cathy Statz, Cooperative Outreach Specialist, Advocate and Educator 
2025 has been declared the international year of Cooperatives. Cathy Statz joins us to dive into cooperative education and the significance of a year talking about the movement. Learn more about the different types of cooperatives, why they are important and how YPs can get more involved beyond the day-to-day work at your credit union. We will also leave time for questions and conversation with Cathy.

Speakers

Cathy Statz

Cooperative Outreach Specialist, Advocate and Educator
Cathy Statz (she/her) is a cooperative outreach specialist for NCBA CLUSA International; she also supports the Cooperative Development Foundation on projects including the Cooperative Leaders and Scholars (CLS) program. An advocate for educating youth and emerging leaders about co-ops, she spent more than 25 years as Wisconsin Farmers Union’s education director/camp director and continues to serve as co-coordinator of the National Farmers Union College Conference on Cooperatives (CCOC). Additionally, she serves as an outreach specialist for the International Centre for Co-operative Management at Saint Mary’s University. 

Her board service includes the Ralph K. Morris Foundation and InSPIREation Foundation, and membership in the Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA), Association of Cooperative Educators (ACE), CooperationWorks!, and an online Rotary club.
