The city of Oshkosh has a large refugee population, and the majority have little experience navigating checking or savings accounts, paying bills, and are not financially empowered. Most other financials in town have opted out of taking on these individuals, but OCCU serves them by offering a variety of solutions as well as counseling. We also walk more established members through the process of purchasing their first homes in the United States. Our goal is to help them feel safe and build their confidence.
