Every time a Member uses their debit card, Royal donates up to $0.05 to the Royal Credit Union Foundation. Since the Foundation began in 2012, it has donated over $8 million to support capital projects in the arts, education, and health.
Recent Grant Recipients:
• $400,000 gift to UW-Eau Claire Foundation for the Simpson Field turf and outdoor track upgrades.
• $100,000 gift to Medford Area for Tomorrow, Inc for the creation of a pavilion to be placed in an underutilized city parking lot on Whelen Street. The new pavilion will create a centerpiece of downtown recreation and entertainment and will include restrooms and an enclosed concession area with serving window. It will host the weekly farmer’s market and other community events.
• $15,000 gift to Eau Claire Community Table for a new walk-in cooler.
• $5,000 to the Legacy Community Center in Chippewa Falls for an ADA accessible door.
• The RCU Foundation hosts and annual charity run/walk call Rock the Riverfront featuring the Charity Classic. Participants are given the opportunity to vote to determine which charity beneficiary takes home the largest gift. The 2023 event focused on workforce development organizations with the following gifts were awarded: $15,000 to Junior Achievement of Northwestern Wisconsin, $7,500 to the L.E. Phillips Career Development Center, and $5,000 to Workforce Resource Inc.
