Responsibilities
- Greet members and other visitors enthusiastically, creating a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
- Engage in friendly, professional conversations in-person, on the phone, and via email to assist members with their needs.
- Direct members to the appropriate team member or self-service options.
- Manage lobby traffic flow to ensure an efficient and positive experience for visitors and team members.
- Perform account transactions and basic troubleshooting on account issues or error resolution.
- Confidently share information about financial products, promotions, and credit union services in an informative manner, putting the members’ needs first.
- Process incoming mail; distribute to appropriate personnel.
- Educate and assist members with digital banking offerings, including mobile app, online banking, bill pay, mobile deposit, and more.
- Support the lending and member service departments by performing a variety of administrative tasks such as: scheduling appointments, preparing reports, data entry for account opening or new loans, processing loan satisfactions or loan payment protection applications, and scanning documents.
- Maintain an organized and inviting lobby, including hospitality/refreshment areas and family zone.
- Provide backup support on the teller line as needed.
- Promote member engagement initiatives such as financial literacy programs, community events, and special campaigns.
- Gather feedback from members; share insights with leadership to continuously improve member experience.
- May need to serve as a Notary Public.
Qualifications
- Must be bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak and write fluently in both languages.
- Passion for people, service, and community impact.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, approachable personality.
- Ability to effectively balance work tasks with member requests; versatility is a must.
- Intermediate skills with standard Microsoft Office products.
- Comfortability with technology, including a positive attitude toward learning and educating others on new technologies.
- Previous experience at a financial institution or similar role is desired.
- General understanding of financial products and services (or a demonstrated willingness to learn).
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to resolve member concerns and issues independently.
- Notary Public certification is a plus.

Pay range for the Member Advocate – Bilingual Spanish non-exempt (hourly) position is $45,000 - $50,000 per year. We are dedicated to serving our members Monday – Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm which allows our team to enjoy weekends off.
