On September 19-20, 45 credit union professionals joined us for another successful Financial Education & Community Development Workshop in Wausau!
The Financial Education and Community Development Workshop is an annual, complimentary event sponsored by The Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation and is instrumental in developing programs to create financial wellness for credit union members and their communities.
To kick things off, attendees heard from subject matter experts on financial wellbeing in action, managing medical debt, and the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) Report which measures financial hardship in our communities.
Then, on the second day of the workshop, attendees learned more about Shoreline Credit Union’s CU@Work program, the value of credit unions differentiating on purpose from Filene, gained insights into Wisconsin financial education from the Department of Financial Institutions, and wrapped up the event with a robust roundtable discussion. (There might have been some dancing, too!)
This annual conference is not only your chance to hear engaging speakers, but is also an incredible opportunity to bring together like-minded financial professionals who work every day to foster the financial wellbeing of their members. We hope you'll join us next year!
